get it at the right price and you might bag yourself a bargain., 17 July 2009
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: 160GB Limited Edition PlayStation 3 Console PS3 (Video Game)
I'll skip all the PS3 vs Xbox 360 nonsense, clearly if you care enough to read reviews of this ps3 bundle you've decided which console you want.
The only question now is which bundle to go with.
This 160Gb model has been discontinued now and it wasn't a massive success. It's easy to see why; it cost to much.
It's very easy (and cheaper) to buy a regular PS3 and upgrade the hard drive to 320GB. It doesn't invalidate the warranty and you can buy everything you need from Amazon. So if a big hard drive is what you want and you can handle a screw driver, this isn't the bundle for you.
On the plus side, not everybody wants to open up their console (no matter how easy the manufacturer makes it), the PS3 eats drive space pretty quickly and you get access to 5 decent down loadable games included in the price (Super Stardust HD is among the very best the PS3 has to offer).
If you find this bundle selling for cheaper then the price of the standard model & drive upgrade then by all means go for it. But check the warranty information (as it's likely to be used or old stock).

PS3 VS X-BOX360, 27 Dec 2008
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: 160GB Limited Edition PlayStation 3 Console PS3 (Video Game)
Hi all.
i would like to start by saying this is my own PERSONAL opinion on the 2 consoles.
i owned the ps3 60gb about 6months ago now and what can i say... AMAZING!!! i stupidly sold it :( and reciently baught a x-box 360 20gb.
ok differences.........
Running Sound
x-box is loud with the disk and cooling fans constantly turning, where as the ps3 was only cooling when it really needed to (like a laptop).
DVD FILMS
Blueray won the fight in the dvd world against HD-dvd. basicly a normal dvd disk holds 4gb of space. a HD dvd holds 16gb of space. a blueray dvd holds 80gb of space, allowing ALOT more quality/extras/sound/games to be fitted onto the 1 disk.
...x-box has (optional) HD-DVD player...
...ps3 has blueray DVD PLAYER...
Graphics
personaly there isnt much between them on graphics. ps3 has Granturismo 5, xbox has Fozza2... ps3 has metal-gear, xbox has halo. the 2 consoles cant be compared on graphics as the graphics go on the game creators
detail... how ever dont buy a WII for graphics!!! haha.
Genral usage Media Centre
ok, you can connect a ps3 or a x-box to your home pc (via the home internet network).
this is for playing the music/videos/pictures off your pc (in the office) but viewing them on the living room tv (through the ps3 or x-box)
PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST HAVE WINDOWS-XP-MEDIA-EDITION OR VISTA-MEDIA-EDITION TO USE THIS OPTION.
ok the ps3 connected to the home network with no worrys... however (even with all the driver updates) the x-box still remains unconnected to my pc (not sure why, it finds the pc and connects... but dissconects straight after) you decide that 1.
Controlers
prity much the same layout. x-box has the anologue sticks about 2cm thurther than the ps3 but prity much the same.
ps3 seems to hold charge in the controler for somewhat longer aswell.
ps3 has 6axis motion sensitive controlers... x-box do not.
Extras
xbox has more options out there for optional extras and add-ons for the console and games than the ps3... BUT with the ps3 MOST of these things are already included when you baught the ps3 console. sony made 3 decisions with the console market on selling. put every thing (blueray, hdd, wi-fi, bluetooth, usb, media card reader) and made the hdd size the option. this gave it a higher price on the market...
however xbox made 3 main consoles 1 that was very basic (just play games) 1 that was mid range (hd-dvd, 20gb hdd) and 1 top range (120gb hdd, hd-dvd, unique black casing) but non were given wi-fi/bluetooth/media card readers/blueray etc.
some of these things are optional extras... and some will only be able to all be functonal on the ps3.
to sum up the 2 consoles
xbox; loud, no more hd-dvd, low batt life, good graphics, ok hdd, usual microsoft software problems, must pay to go on the internet (payment ontop of your normal internet payment plan)
ps3; scilent, blueray dvd, high batt life, good graphics, good hdd, very good online service and free online gaming (free free free FUN FUN FUN)
there you go.
use your own minds, but my mind is towards the ps3 (disspite me not having a ps3 at the moment and owhing the 360)

Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: 160GB Limited Edition PlayStation 3 Console PS3 (Video Game)
I don't have a 160GB PS3 model but some idiot decided to knock it by giving it 1 star. For all I can tell you is I only have a 40GB PS3. The PS3 compared to the X-box 360 has more advantages than you think. The PS3 doesn't give the awful loud noise that the X-box engine does which can get really annoying. The PS3 can read blu-ray disks (although that doesn't mean too much in gaming)which is a new form of DVDs. The PS3 has more games than you think isn't Little Big Planet good? where you can create your own stages. The on-line service is safer as there are less people abusing the service they play to have fun and finally going on-line is free with X-box 360 you get the first month free then you have to pay to play on-line games with the PS3 once you create the account you don't have to pay to keep playing on-line.
