After coming third in the 2007 edition of The X Factor TV talent contest, teen pop sensation (and regular Butlins performers) Same Difference release their debut album, 'Pop'. Unsurprisingly, it is a cheesy, good-natured affair with a fun mix of up-tempo tunes and sing-alongs. With Simon Cowell acting as their mentor on The X Factor, the sibling duo have signed up to his Syco label for this release, joining a great many other reality stars on his roster. Features the single 'We R One'.

Sadly, infectious, dizzy bubblegum pop like this is a dying breed in the charts today after the demise of the supercheese groups Steps and S Club 7, amongst others. Since then there's been a huge gap in the market for a happy-go-lucky outfit like Same Difference, and they've filled it brilliantly with their debut album 'Pop'.

The hype may suggest they're aimed at kids, but anyone who was into late 90's / early 2000's pop will adore this stuff. As well as their foot-tapping High School Musical-inspired first single "We R One", the stand out tracks for me are the excellent cover of Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" as performed on the X Factor, and the reworking of Kylie's lesser-known hit "Turn It Into Love". This is feel-good music at its best - saccharine fuelled, utterly cheesy but genius for it!

When I watched X-Factor last year, I never pictured myself buying anything from Same Difference. Then I heard them perform 'We R One' on the show a few weeks ago, and I thought it was an absolutely amazing song! Soon after, I downloaded it and couldn't stop playing it. I wasn't surprised to learn that J�rgen Elofsson wrote the song (the Super Swede who writes for Westlife, Britney, et al. He also wrote my favorite Steps song: It's The Way You Make Me Feel). When I learned that such super producers were working with Same Difference, I took a gamble and bought the album. I must say it was well worth the gamble, as the CD is awesome. There are just so many excellent songs on it that it would be ridiculous to list them all (I'd basically be listing the whole album). That said, my absolute favorite songs are 'If You Can't Dance'; 'I Need a House'; 'Better Love Me'; and (of course) 'We R One'. Anyway, suffice to say that if you like Westlife, Steps, Britney, etc, then you'll love this album--it's a real treat, and you won't be disappointed.

This is such a feel good album, and would make a fantastic christmas present for any little girl ! the best songs are We R One, Let me be the one and Better love me. Overall FANTASTIC !! A+
