Album Description
Danish singer/songwriter Tina Dico's fifth studio album takes a break from the regular 10 or 12 track album, and consists of three mini-albums with 20 new songs.
Especially recorded as a contrast to her more formal fourth studio album 'Count To Ten', this 3-disc set is a culmination of two year's worth of writing - the first mini-album 'A Beginning' was originally conceived as a Tour Only release as a bonus for fans who came to Tina's shows last year. The Spring 2008 tour promoting 'Count To Ten' resulted in a second mini-album 'A Detour', and the third 'An Open Ending' has been recorded for Tina's forthcoming Autumn tour. Now released together as a beautifully packaged triple CD set, each CD in individual colour sleeves inside the slipcase, together with a lavish full-colour 32-page booklet.
Originally intended as very 'acoustic' recordings, these songs soon developed and took on a sound of their own. Simply recorded in a small quiet studio in Denmark, this album resembles a more grown-up and broader sound for Tina - in parts, it's very stripped and raw, in others it's story-telling at its finest, and then there's the familiar sound that fans will recognise as related to the songs on 'Count To Ten' and the previous album 'In The Red'. These songs really are some of the best of Tina's recent work - songs written with zero constraints and complete artistic control.
A superb collection from a songwriter at the top of her game.
