Manufacturer's Description

FAMILY TREE SOFTWARE - FOREWORD BY NICK BARRATT, Resident Genealogist on the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are?

"PCs and the Internet have made the task of researching your family history much easier than ever before. With vast amounts of data now archived on the internet, the odds of success for those seeking information on their heritage has dramatically increased.

Using this Family Tree Software, you can organise and store all the data you find on your family and ancestors and then create trees, charts, albums and reports to share with family and friends. Tracing your roots will take some investigative work and lots of time, but the end result will be a truly rewarding and emotional journey into your past!"

ABOUT THE TV SERIES
Who Do You Think You Are? took the world's favourite pastime, genealogy and turned it into a TV phenomenon. The show follows the sometimes emotional stories of well-known personalities as they search for their ancestors. From tales of fortunes lost, to families found, their stories take us around the world and are full of memorable moments.

FEATURES VIDEO CLIPS AND FAMILY TREES OF THE CELEBRITIES FEATURED IN THE FIRST FOUR TV SERIES!

2.0 out of 5 stars Few Problems, 29 Dec 2008
By Rachael Garner (March, Cambs, England) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Who Do You Think You Are? Family Tree Maker (DVD-ROM)
The family tree has a great layout and is easy to use and input information, but I have had many problems. I feel it should not have been released until problems were sorted. My main problem was it is not compatable with HP printers unless you go around the houses and the help pages and people to get it sorted. I have also been unable to register for the free months ancestry membership.

Bought Family Tree Maker and like everyone else, the free trial didnt work
A freephone call to Utah and they rectified it.
The input is easy but i find it difficult to view the whole family tree with all the sub branches
    A good product though

2.0 out of 5 stars Wish they'd stop "improving" things, 29 Jan 2009
This review is from: Who Do You Think You Are? Family Tree Maker (DVD-ROM)
I had to buy this in case my old Generations software became obsolete but all I want is a bog standard family tree. It's hard to glide through the generations and you end up in places you didn't want to go. I haven't managed to work out how to put the cause of death on whilst with my old software I could see all my facts at a glance. You don't see all the children displayed on the tree either and have to fiddle about to get them up. I am amazed how it links up with ancestry and does your work for you and it has flagged up links with other trees on ancestry which is useful if people ever responded. We didn't buy the most up to date version but I'm glad I saved the money and got this one as I prefer to keep things as simple as possible and i suspect this is the best I could hope for.
