The most over-marketed product around at the moment. This stuff is being heavily pushed on children's TV, and sadly my six-year-old persuaded his grandmother to buy this set for his birthday.

But
(i) the sand comes in little polythene bags - no other way of storing it, so when you've played with it once, good luck to you.
(ii) the sand (of course) just mixes together and looks pretty ugly once it has. This is bound to happen after the first time you've played with it.
(iii) you have to use considerable force to push the sand into the molds before trying to get the shape out. 80% of the time the shapes will collapse when you try to get them out - even more often if you're under 10. Disappointing. This doesn't happen with other modelling toys.
(iv) the picture is _so_ misleading. Frankly, unless they just happen to be artistic prodigies, there is no way that the kids in the advert made those shapes.
(v) this stuff is _so_ expensive! Please please buy lego - paints - playdough - books - ANYTHING else. It will be better value for money.

Just read the reviews about this moonsabd.
I have 3 daughters and they love playing with it. They got it from Father Christmas and love making different shapes and bashing them up and re-making them.
Yes, the 1st time you play it the sand gets mixed up and goes a different colour but i have found that happens with play dough so not too much of a problem there.
It does not stain and if you spill it on the floor you can hoover it up no problem.
Yes i would recommend it to anyone and i have since got some for my goddaughter and she loves playing with it as does her sister so yes get some.

My 3 year old received this for Christmas and has not stopped playing with it. I took into consideration other reviews but still bought the product as my son loves to play with sand and play doh. From owning an outside sand pit I was prepared for sand everywhere so i make sure when he plays with it that he is in the kitchen, which makes it easy to tidy up and no sand in the carpet. I have not mixed the colours as yet because he is happy playing with one colour just like he does with play doh. The sand comes in bags and it was easy to put back with a little help from my son. It is ideal for rainy days and winter months when he can not get outside and play in the sandpit. It also encourages his imagination and creativity and keeps his attention span for longer than play doh. i love it and will be buying other moon sand packs.
