Product Description

CD Description

With a sound equal parts Pearl Jam/Creed grunge-anthemic and Hinder modern/heavy, and a touch of hard-edged Southern rock that betrays its Mississippi origins, 3 Doors Down was a huge success straight out of the gate, and quickly became one of the biggest rock bands in the country. The group's fourth album finds it continuing confidently down the path the band established, as Brad Arnold's voice contrasts heavyweight wailing with contemplative near-crooning. Rampaging riff monsters like "Train" rub shoulders with the power balladry of "Your Arms Feel Like Home", as the band's trademark mix ofraw energy and melodic pop unfurls itself once more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Takes a few listens but worth it!!, 11 Aug 2008

If you read the other reviews posted here you might be put off - but don't be. I've had this album for a few months; picking it up in the States before it's UK release and trust me, its a slow burner. Whilst many of the tracks don't have the instant appeal of their earlier hits, they soon grow on you. I think its a fine addition to their growing body of high class rock.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth a listen, but not amazing, 10 Jun 2008
By A. Lewis (Newcastle-under-Lyme, England) - See all my reviews

Compared to Seventeen Days I'd say this offering from 3 Doors Down is a bit lacklustre.
Citizen/Soldier is a very good, powerful song and I also like the opening track, Train. However, the rest of the album seems to blend into one for me, there are no standout tracks that really resonate at all.
Unlike Seventeen Days I couldn't sit and listen to this album all the way through without getting bored and skipping to the next track to see if it was any better (which it never turned out to be).
Average album, I'd definitely recommend anyone to get Seventeen Days rather than this if I was trying to get them into 3DD - whom I have seen live and consider an excellent band... but this album was a bit of a let down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Ablum on the Way..., 20 April 2008
By J. Roche "jazzyjames999" (UK) - See all my reviews

This is going to be another excellent album by the brilliant 3 Doors Down. Judging by the first two songs they've released in the States - Citizen/Solider and It's Not my Time, they are both amazing songs, heavily based on remembering the soldiers that went to fight in the Iraq war. They remind me of the first two songs released from their first album, which makes me think that they (as many other long time bands do) are reverting back to their original sound. And judging by their first album which was amazing, this should not disappoint.

If you're a big fan, do yourself a favour and visit their official site and listen to their debut songs form this album or download them from some American site.

Here's hoping they come to the UK at some stage to promote this album because I for one will be there in the first row no matter how good this album is!
