3.0 out of 5 stars imperfect but still fun for young x-factor fans, 29 Dec 2008

The previous reviewers have correctly identified some problems with this game, but my family have had a lot of fun with it anyway. Whether you like the electronic, music-playing "dice" is a matter of taste -- some may find the music annoying, but my six-year old gets up and bops every time the music plays (so, hey, he gets some exercise too!). The game rules do not explain the "Performance" cards properly, so we simply made up our own rules. My daughter really likes the spiral-bound scorecards, as you get to change your character's outfit every time you amass 5 votes. The game is simple to play (once you've decided how to fill in the gaps in the rules) so younger kids (age 5 up) can join in. Play lasts 20-30 minutes, which is just about right for my family. We've played the game 3 times so far this Christmas and I can see it getting pulled out again for playdates.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Family game, 3 April 2009
Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: X Factor Board Game (Toy)
I got this game for the family at Christmas and we have had loads of fun playing it - admittedly the spinner playing the music all the time is a bit much, but the game is a fun one that the whole family can play.
On other reviews it says about the rules not explaining the Performance cards but we didn't have a problem with this. It says at the end of the instructions that the players count the votes they got during the game and add the number on their performance card to this to get their final votes total - seems simple enough. I like the way that the person quickest round the board is not always the winner - all in all a really fun game.

I bought this board game for my nieces who are aged 9 and 7 at the time.
They are both into the x factor and just loved the board game as did their granny who also loves the show.
Apparently the buzzer is really annpying, but the kids love it and that's who I bought it for! A winner present!
