Product Description

Product Description

The latest in laptop cooling, this brand new FreeLogix Laptop Gel Cooling Pad uses a macromolecular compound which absorbs excess heat. The amazing FreeLogix Gel Pad is initially in granular form until it reaches temperatures of 25ºC. As the gel pad absorbs the heat from your laptop the granuals change ther molecular structure into a viscous gel that continually absorbs heat from any item that comes into contact with it. Ideal for notebook computers, as they are placed on the pad it will absorb large amounts of heat from the base of the laptop. This does not disturb the laptops pre-built cooling system of using cooling fans. The cooling pad allows for additional cooling an does so in a silent and non-obtrusive form. With no need for external power, this FreeLogix Laptop Gel Cooling Pad can be used for approximately 5 hours at a time (depending on ambent temperatures). When the gel pad is left in natural conditions the crystals in the pad will reform allowing you to use it over and over again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Gel Cooling Pad which heats up too easily, 26 Jan 2008
By K. Aboutayab (Brighton, UK) - See all my reviews

The gel cooling pad warms up far too easily. The laptop still heats up slightly after about an hour and even more so after a couple of hours. The only reason why I have not given this product the lowest rating is that that it can easily fit into a laptop bag, unlike fan coolers, and it cools the laptop albeit very minimally.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor - Better off buying Antec Cooler , 12 April 2008
By E. Prayoga "Titz" - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this because i liked the idea of having a passive cooling mat. The idea of using the heat from your laptop to transfer the crystals into a viscous liquid thereby removing heat? It worked well in transferring the heat away from the laptop but at the same it meant that the exhaust vent was blocked! Within 1 hour of regular idle use on firefox and msn, the temperature shot up on speed fan.

I have an ASUS A8JS with a geforce 7700 go graphics card and it would often overheat to 85 degrees at which point the unit would hibernate after 30 mins of playing NFS pro street.

I do a lot of music editing on cool edit/adobe audition and mix meister fusion. This would only last 30 minutes before the CPU fan would stop screaming at its fastest setting and hibernate.

Save your money and buy the antec cooler instead. It's only 10 quid more, but i'm getting GFX readings of 44 degrees idle and HDD readings of 32-34 degrees idle!
