Well constructed, base weighted with battery, 8.5" high x 5" base. Charging point and on/off switch easily accessible. A red light indicates charging, red light off fully charged.From fully charged provides 6 hours (not 8 as descrbed). Provides 20' to 30' diameter walking illumination. Beware after 6 hours it's "light out", there's no warning!!! The spec gives 6v, don't be discouraged, the recharging (small) voltage control adapter is 12v.
Ideal for emergency lighting at home, and with zero heat generated, very suitable for camping.

This lantern is a good product and gives an excellent illumination. However, I was disappointed that it did not include an adaptor that would allow you to recharge in the car.
