An excellent debut album from a much under-rated British metal band. It seems to have been unavailable for several years and it's great to see that it appears to have been re-released on CD ('cos I was waiting to replace my original cassette).

There's nothing particularly fancy about Shattered Existence; it's direct and to the point. A combination of great, catchy riffs and shout-along-lyrics. It got great reviews at the time and took them to open for Testament at Hammersmith Odeon in 1990 (where they were excellent).

Highlights include Balance Of Power and Crimes, but they're all good tracks with choruses that'll stay stuck in your head for ages.

Also on this version you get bonus tracks originally recorded for Radio 1's Friday Night Rock Show. These include their infamour cover of Ray Parker Jr's Ghostbusters with which they used to finish their live shows.

Very highly reccomended - both for some excellent metal nostaglia and to anyone unlucky enough to have missed out on Xentrix the first time around.

I truly love this cd,it's my favourite of all of Xentrix's releases. It's their first album from 1989 which was on the old roadrunner thrash out put of the days. It has the thrashy production and fast guitaring. The opening track 'no compromise' somes it up,it's what you get it was just 9 tracks of british guys doing thrash very well,it stands the test of time and there are alot of new bands tring to get this sound nowdays,it's an old thrash classic from a band who never got as big as they deserved to be,a quality cd definately worth getting if you are interested in old skool thrash that was good,or just don't want to damage your vinyl of this which i still have,an excellent cd. As this is the reissue i do believe it has the most excellent 'Dilute to taste' ep, two non album songs which had great production and a couple of live tracks including xentrix doing their trevor and simon 'swing your pants' line during a song...now i'm just showing my age there,a quality cd/
