I bought a second pair of heelys for my daughter at Xmas (she grew out of the first pair) she uses them all the time and LOVES them - they aren't the dangerous things they have a reputation for - my daughter has never fallen in them. If you are thinking of buying HEELYS remember to buy a size bigger than your normal shoe size as they are a small fit.

This is a fantastic product. My both Kids Love it.
I have tried two different brands of shoes with wheels underneath before. This is the best so far.
Drawback: Once you wear the shoes, kids are stuck with the wheels until you prise it out to insert the normal sole into the gap. In some other brands, you can push the wheel in and out with the press of a button. The shoe does come with a 'metal spoon' and a semicircular piece to fill this gap which you might want to carry with you if they want to use the same shoe for normal walking.
Advantages: Very well made. Beautiful cushioning of feet. The friction for 'wheeling around' is negligible. The difference between three different types of shoes is remarkable. My son who was scared of using his old shoes (from a different brand) is not scared any more and can do it comfortably. Easy to stop and that is very important as well.The price on Amazon was the cheapest I could find. Fantastic bargain.
Highly recommended if you are interested in this sort of thing.

My Mother noticed a child in Tesco's whizzing around on a pair of these and instantly wanted to get some for my youngest. On returning home I searched them out on Amazon and was amazed at the price. (got them on offer in March)
They are a great shoe and my daughter loves them, although she is a bit wary on them but still has a great time trying.
The shoe itself is a solid made lace up trainer with a comfortable cushioned sole. They have the added bonus of a wheel in the heal and its just a case of lift up your toes and off (easy for me to say, I'm on crutches!!!) but they look fun.
Having recently started secondary school and we couldn't find a pair of shoes my daughter was happy with so, spotting these on the floor by her other shoes we had a brainwave. The wheels are removable and are replaced with a domed wedge that fills the gap-hey presto instant School shoes! We just have to remember to take the wheel out on Sunday night, don't think school would approve, although they would come in handy when she's late for the bus!!
