I bought this EP from Amazon on the strength of listening to the single on their MySpace website.

The EP is very good value, not only do you get no less than five different versions of the track (albeit NOT the version that is currently available to listen to on their MySpace website!), but there is also a video track of Ice Cream that you can watch on your PC.

As for the track itself, and other work this band has created, it feels fresh, a little like maybe the early 80's electro pop felt when first heard - pure electro pop, with all the bad elements taken out. The vocal style is slightly reminiscent of Laurie Anderson - no bad thing at all.

Highly recommended if you like music for the sake of it - and NOT X-Factor type waste's of air-time and profit making mobile phone voting - I much prefer finding new talented artists out for myself, and not be forced to like facsimiles rolling out yet another much hackneyed cover version that isn't needed.

NYPC is the perfect tonic...

Hooray for New Young Pony Club!and Hooray for Amazon for having this EP available for less than the �10 most high street retailers are selling it for!Ice Cream is a fabulous song, and worth the entry price alone.Lovely dead pan delivery a la ladytron and snappy concise beats bubbling along in the background.The remixes are on the whole a little pointless as they add no new dimension to the song (why bother?), but the two original songs 'descent' and 'get dancey' are also excellent!
