5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says on the tin, 27 Oct 2006
There is absolutely nothing new here. All these tracks have been played to death. Every classic tune you could want from the Golden Age of Cheese is present and correct. True, as one reviewer points out, you probably have most of them already - somewhere - but this set saves you a lot of digging around down the back of your record boxes.

The even better news is that this is a compilation, not a mix - so it is very DJ-friendly. Note: most of these tracks are singles versions, not extended mixes, remixes, whatever. Probably no bad thing either.

The three CDs are pretty much all thriller, no filler. Great for replacing those long-lost tunes, and an excellent snapshot for anyone who missed out the first time round.

So, no fancy art work, no bonus tracks, no 'exclusive' remixes; but with fifty-eight 'reach for the lasers' classics for ten quid in one box - what's not to like?

(caution: white gloves and whistle not included in purchase price.)

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing you Havn't seen before, 21 Sep 2006
As if we needed another 'Best of Classic Trance' style compilation, here's another one!
I don't have any gripes about the content of the CDs, in terms of the tracks at least. They are indeed classics, but anyone who's into the trance scene even moderately, like I am will no doubt have these tracks already on past compilations, of which there is no shortage.
The main problem I have is that the tracks are not mixed at all, it's just a lazy throw-together of popular trance. This would have been great had it been mixed.
Worth the buy? Only if you havn't got these classics on CD already, becuase there's nothing new here.
