Amazon call this an EP, but at almost 35 minutes it's more like a mini album and a very good mini album at that.Fans of the brilliant Fire Songs, my album of the year for 2008, will already know what to expect; beautiful harmonies, delicate melodies, songs with a folk/country feel that lodge in the mind and make you want to hear them again and again.There's not a bad track on here, although Shoot The Lights Out is for me probably the best song. The band are very tight and sympathetic with a particularly great bit of guitar that's very reminiscent of Neil Young circa Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.It's not quite as immediate as Fire Songs, but that's never a bad thing,and it really does grow on you. This precedes that album, but even so their sound is already startlingly mature, and although it's not quite as good this is still a head and shoulders above anything else in this genre. We love it.We love them and we hope you love it too.
