An Ubiased Opinion, 3 Nov 2006
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
When I bought this game I wasn't sure what to expect because I prefer first person shooters, but I was surprised by how good it is. It is very satisfying to down your enemy with a superb long distance head shot. The graphics are very good, but not the best, as the shooter disappears when you get close to a wall for example, and when using weapons other than the sniper scope, sometimes the snipers head gets between you and the target. Generally speaking the game is very good, but my only reservation is that unless you get a clean headshot, it can often take three or four rounds to put down the enemy. If I have any criticisms, it's that when using the PPSH Russian SMG, it can often take almost a full magazine to put anyone down, at any range. Apart from that, a very good game and well worth the money. Happy Hunting.

Want to be a Sniper?, 9 Jul 2007

I had the demo of this ages ago and loved it. For some reason I forgot to buy the full game until now. For the price now I would definatley recommend it!
One thing i do love about this game is you can play it at a nice relaxing pace-stealth will help you get through the missions. The gameplay itself consists of 3-5 objectives per mission such as clear enemy in a given area, assassinations, destroy strategic points. Missions are varied enough to keep gameplay interesting.
You must use stealth and keep your distance from the enemy to make full use and advantage of your sniper rifle. You can also can carry machine guns, pistols, time bombs, grenades, first aid kits etc to help you on your way. Search bodies to top up your ammo etc.
Graphically the game is very good. You get a bullet cam view of kills which is very amusing and a nice touch which actually doesnt get too repetitive. Points are also awarded for special shots- 2 kills with one bullet, moving targets etc so you can go back do the level over again and try to improve.
Some people have said that the AI could be better? Are they playing on Rookie still? Change the difficulty to Sniper Elite and you will increase the realism. Wind, Gravity, Heart Rate will make aiming more real and the enemy will react faster and with more accuracy. The harder the level selected will mean you have less saves per level too.
Overall great Sniper FPS! Buy it! I'm playing on P4 3.6 Ghz, 2Gb Ram, X850 XT 256MB GFX Card-Full settings-No lag great framerates. Very enjoyable!

Great Fun but not quite top marks, 20 May 2006
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is fairly addictive, the story line is a little bit lame, typical your character is an American... Aren't they always? *sigh* anybody would think they were the only special forces in the European War... Anyway American Flag waving aside, it doesnt do a bad job at keeping you entertained. The bullet time slo-mo clips on headshots are quite groovy and will keep you and your friends amused for a few hours. The game itself has plent of missions, a variety of different weapons, with several different sniper rifles, mg42, mp40 (German ones are always the best right?) some good detail on the uniforms of the troops, you encounter plenty of SS and NKVD troops as well as regulars.
Where does it fall over? Difficult to say its bad at anything, but... i get the feeling that it could have done a bit better with the AI, especially the tanks, you often find a T34 and a Tiger literally Hull-Hull not firing... what is goin on there? Generally the AI of the enemies is poor unless you ramp it up to Hard Level, then they offer a decent level of resistance, intelligence and threat. The missions are a bit samey as well, though they are not boring... I guess the worst thing is the slight unresponsive touch to the movement and the occasional getting stuck for a second or two to pieces of scenery or vehicles, its a tad annoying... but on the whole, i would definitely say its worth a weekend in front of the Flat Panel and if you grab yourself a copy for a reasonable price, then you shouldnt be disappointed.
