I bought this for my son, aged 10, who'd wanted sea Monkeys for a while. I'll be honest, my expectations weren't high, and when we first put the powder with the eggs in the tank, after carefully following all the instructions for preparing the water, nothing happened for 3 days. Then finally, the tiniest little dots started to appear swimming around! My son was completely over the moon and he, his brother and his friends now love watching the sea monkeys which are now much bigger and doing well. We have since bought a few accessories which I think, for the price, could have been included in the set, the most obvious being the bubble maker which you need really to keep the water aerated. Otherwise a fun, low maintenance pet which gives kids an insight into caring for things without too much commitment.

complete waste of money, the boy followed the instructions to the letter, nothing happened. no hatching. A VERY EXPENSIVE WAY TO PURCHASE 300ML OF SALT WATER.
a cheaper alternative would be to find a jam jar and fill in with rain water add 30grams of sea salt per litre. find a fish shop that sells brine shrimp eggs/or live brine shrimp. job done.

what i did to keep the kid happy was to buy more brine shrimp eggs from an on line aquatic store, they hatched over night. now the kid is happy, very excited and cant wait to feed them.
