4.0 out of 5 stars Toe-tapping music for relaxation!, 28 May 2004
Not many composers manage to make jolly music like the soundrtack to "Amelie" relaxing at the same time. When I first listened to this CD I just couldn't resist getting up and dancing about the room, it's compulsory!! But as you get to know the music some of it can be incredibly relaxing. Tiersen not only has some excellent exciting tracks but some calm, piano music. If you like Einaudi you'll love Tiersen's style, but the contrast between his smooth piano pieces and his lively orchestral pieces is astonishing, and both worth listening to! The only criticism I have is that some of the themes are rather over-repeated, but this is to be expected in a soundtrack. A thoroughly good CD and well worth buying!
