I came across this CD in Rio de Janeiro, and have loved it since. I have since gone onto find out more about Cesaria Evora and am now exploring Cape Verde music and fado also.

This CD has contemporary music producers (remixers) working on pre-existing (traditional ?) music, and the resulting mix works really well.

If you want to create an atmosphere of cool, stylish sophistication - this is the CD for you !

Cesaria's rich voice is still delightful aganst the 'club n dub' arrangements which add to the original sounds. I love it, and so does everyone I have played it to.

One of the coolest compilations ever. It's worth it just for Carl Craig's remix of Angola. The others - all great tracks are a bonus.
