I'm an engineer and I need an advanced calculator that works in a simple logical way but I don't need programme functionality as we have computers these days. I've had this Casio for 10 years or more and it has worked faithfully throughout and is still going strong despite abuse - I've not had any batteries either. I have not found another that has the range of functions combined with no-nonsense functionality. You want to do arithmetic - just press the keys - you don't have to write an equation every time as, infuriatingly, with some modern calculators!

Bought this as I was struggling with the Fx-991ES which had replaced my 15 year old Casio. Now that I know how to switch the fractions of the fx-991ES I think I prefer it and it is half the price with more functionality

I wanted a scientific calculator that was value for money, so I'm satisfied that I have that as the Casio FX992MS Calculator does everything that I need for around �20.

Not being familiar with scientific calculators before, I'd have appreciated it if the User's Guide had more detailed instructions and examples of how to use it. Also, the lettering above the "MODE" numbers could be a bit larger so as to improve legibility and ease of use.

However, I do recommend it as a good buy. Also, it arrived very promptly, which I appreciated.
