4.0 out of 5 stars great teen black comedy(?), 6 Nov 2004
well im not sure if this film was meant to be, but it was indeed delicously dark and humorous. Home and Away? nah! This film isnt cheap, its pretty slick, and pretty creepy. You can have a good chuckle at it and be thinking 'eww wtf?' at the same time, not that its like a spoof or a comedy. Its definately got its moments, there are many cringe-worthy scenes (hence the 18 cert). It's a bit like a fairy tale...with a dark and grim twist. Perfect for a night in, best viewed with others to really feel the grim humour, i'd recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not recommended, 28 Jun 2004
By A Customer
The idea behind this film is quite good, and there's nothing too much wrong with the acting (even if the dialogue is painfully slow at times). The problem is it feels so CHEAP. And I don't mean in a low budget Evil Dead kind of way, I mean cheap in that it feels like a violent epsiode of Home & Away.

If you can pick up a bargain copy like I did then it's worth checking out I suppose, but pay any more than a couple of quid for this DVD and you'll feel disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Meagre, loose, plotless, boneless, 1 April 2007

Wes Craven may have found this film interesting. Yet it is a slow, too slow mish mash of perversion, distorted minds, fear, bashfulness, sadism and a few other niceties of the sort. I even defy you to find the relation between seeing, and being seen, touched, loved and many other forms of attachment for a woman, and from a woman, who is systematically aggressive, violent, despising, condescending, arrogant even. The film has no plot and the Frankenstein revisited fad is in no way working in any good direction. You can dress a donkey in a tuxedo it will still look like an ass. It's a shame because there could have been one or two lines that could have produced a passable film. But these potential lines were systematically neglected.

5.0 out of 5 stars A 'missed' gem
I don't think this film ever got a UK theatrical release which is a great shame because Angela Bettis gives a truely mesmorising performance as a loner trying to fit in. Read more
