Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

It is easy to learn to play classic blues songs with Blues Guitar Legends. Feature packed, there are ten master recordings from guitar greats such as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaugham and B.B. King with biographies and photos allowing you to gain insights into the lives of the legends. There are different skill levels, which enable everyone - from beginners to experienced players - to accomplish great sounds.Blues Guitar Legends is ideal for all skill levels. Beginners are provided with simplified chord versions of the songs, while experienced players can learn note-for-note from the full transcriptions of both lead and rhythm parts. You can learn at the tempo that best suits your skill level through original recordings and variable speed MIDI tracks. Looping allows you to select and repeat tricky sections of a song. An animated fretboard makes learning easy and precise, with real-time display of notes, including bends, vibrato and slides. Views are shown for both the left and right-hand. By playing into a computer microphone, an automatic tuner visually tunes your electric or acoustic guitar. A recorder allows you to record and play yourself back at the click of a mouse, while a metronome enables you to work on rhythm, timing and picking speed. Instructional material presents the chords and playing tips needed to master the song and also helps you emulate the tone and technique of the blues guitar greats. This is the ultimate way to learn the Blues!Songs included are; "Statesboro Blues" performed by The Allman Brothers Band, "Smoking Gun" performed by Robert Cray, "Early in the Morning" performed by Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, "The Thrill is Gone" performed by B.B.King, "Hide Away" performed by Freddie King, "Boogie Chillen" performed by John Lee Hooker, "Cherry Red Wine" performed by Jonny Lang, "Crossfire" performed by Stevie Ray Vaughan, "Hoochie Coochie Man" performed by Muddy Waters and "Back Door Man" performed by Howlin' Wolf.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic, 20 Mar 2006
By yessy (Henlow) - See all my reviews
I bought Blues Guitar Legend because of the great songs by Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King. Then I saw the animated fretboard and was amazed . Bends, slide and vibroto make this feature very cool. The multi speed option made learning the songs very easy. I highly recomend picking this one up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bewildering, 24 Feb 2006
If you can not already play like John Lee Hooker Id give this one a miss!

Impressive to look at, but as far as teaching you anything goes I would look else where. There are hardly any lessons. Basically all the software is is sheet music/tab for a number of classic blues songs with a fancy animated guitar fret board. The software left me bewildered and disheartened and made me think it was almost impossible to play blues guitar.

If you want to learn anything I would strongly recommend any software from the Charanga range. This software is excellent. With lots of lessons to follow. Even after buying it over 3 years ago I still go back to it now.
