This is a fundamental work for anyone interested in Buddhist practice from the perspective of the Triratna Buddhist Order. It is clearly laid out explaining the Triratna Order's principle tenets and canonical foundations. Each of the Ten Pillars or Precepts is then explored and discussed in detail in a way that applies to everyday life. It is easy to read, not a long work but so full of important priciples to reflect on and put into practice all the time. For individual or group study, a very important book.

This deceptively short book contains the basis of an intelligent ethical practice for anyone on a 'spiritual' path. Based upon the Triratna Buddhist approach, this penetrating investigation requires prolonged thought and reflection. This is in my top three Sangharakshita titles, a masterpiece!
