From the Author
I am delighted that my first book Victorian Needlepoint has been given a new lease of life by National Trust Books. One of the aims in revising it was to improve the charts which had been hand drawn and were not very easy to follow. Once I started work on these I realised how much I had learned in the past 15 years and I could not resist improving the shapes and shading as well. The result is not just a more up to date looking book, beautifully printed, but with much more legible charts and improved designs. Now even the complex Acanthus Rug can be re-created with ease. I hope that this fresh modern printing will inspire as many new stitchers as did the first edition.
