Synopsis
The Ribble Motor Services fleet exuded quality from its earliest days and attracted the attention of many enthusiasts, including many who did not live in its operating area. We are fortunate that one such was Geoffrey Atkins who, from his base in Nottingham, sought out Ribble vehicles in places as far apart as Ilfracombe and Llandudno. As always with this photographer, whose first love was and remained coachwork, much care was taken to achieve portraits designed to show off the coachbuilder's art. Thus Ribble's express and excursion work receives as much attention as its stage carriage activities. Photographer and author John Banks have again combined their talents to produce what will undoubtedly be a best seller.
