Product Description

Product Description

This new and substantially revised edition of "Shooting Made Easy" contains over sixty new photographs. The book has been highly acclaimed and offers a new perspective on the sport. Mike Reynolds' philosophy is to 'keep it simple', ensuring that the basics are understood and mastered first. The text is clear and readable, avoiding the technical jargon that often clouds the issue of good shooting. The book covers: the fundamentals of good shooting; complete step-by-step illustration; achieving good results in competitions; and what to look for in a gun.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good basic tuition but content strange?, 31 Aug 2009
By Richard A. Saffell "rsaffell" (England) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Shooting Made Easy (Crowood Aviation S.) (Paperback)
By its title, this book is aimed at beginners to the sport/hobby and the first few chapters are informative and aimed at this level. I am not sure that beginners would wish to participate in FITASC and some of the pictures are very old and in black and white. The photos of the Skeet are better but each one is accompanied by a one line explanation as though it is just to add bulk to the book. I found some of the comments made by the author to be aimed too high for a beginner and also contained elements of the authors opinion expressed in a way that was perhaps too rigid. Overall I felt that the author may have been better explaining the basics more and dwelling less on the finer detail which is more applicable to the more experienced shooter. I also felt that the author appeared to be "talking down" to the reader. So my overall opinion is that whilst there are elements of this book which is very informative, the authors choice of content is questionable and his writing style is a little out of date.
