Product Description

Mr Wani, the crocodile is late for a party in town. The more he tries to hurry, the more catastrophes he creates - usually involving some poor unsuspecting animal who is passing by! Will the fantastically accident-prone crocodile ever arrive on time and in one piece?

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple slapstick humour for toddlers with bold pictures full of bounce., 9 Sep 2009
By ELH Browning "Esther-Lou" (Kingston Bagpuize, Oxon) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This is a great fun book full of a crocodile's foolish slapstick misadventures which is instantly appealing to toddlers from about 18 months. The book itself has an energetic 1970s feel in its colour and styling with bold and strong illustrations that are almost alive with the big bouncy actions they contain. Mr Wani the crocodile is trying to hurry to a party and has silly exploits along the way, squashing some mouse friends, taking an aborted ballon ride, skidding into an elephant and landing on a prickly hedgehog. It's a simple linear story, but absolutely none the worse for this, and there's a lovely touch at the end when poor Mr Wani flies through the air towards a cutout window, and turning the pages, he's landed safely in the party.
Yes, Mr Wani, you are fantastic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous fun with a wicked sense of humour, 11 May 2007
By H. Jones - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Mr Wani is a luckless crocodile (Wani incidently being Japanese for crocodile) who hurries to a party and ends up squashing animals or breaking things as he goes. (All survive and are unhurt).

Illustrations are very bold and certainly have a japanese anime twist to them. Story line is great as you can predict "What happens next" as poor Mr Wani is about to land on some unsuspecting creatures.

My 3 yr old certainly loves it as does his father! Anything where there is suffering seems to appeal to a certain age group...

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky and charming, 11 Jan 2009

All three of my boys laugh out loud every time we read this absurd, delightful tale. Crushed penguins, sunglass sporting mice-dudes and a crazy croc hero...what else do you need. Gorgeous.

This has to be one of the stupidest books for children that I have ever come across and that's taking the kids-don't-care factor in to consideration. Read more
