Product Description

Synopsis

Includes a survey of the history and lore of green tea and suggestions on buying, storing, and brewing it.

From the Publisher

It¿s Easy to Be Green with Tea Book!
The myriad uses and benefits of green tea have been recognized for centuries by Eastern cultures and are finally gaining notice in the Western mainstream. Author Diana Rosen, in "The Book of Green Tea," explores traditional and modern uses for various green tea blends. "Green tea, my friends, is poetry," begins Rosen, who describes her own discovery and ever-deepening appreciation for the tea. She then reveals the greater historical importance of green tea, spinning true tales ripe with royalty, treachery, folklore, religion, and espionage. Gently duo-toned photographs compliment the text beautifully. Rosen details the differences in varieties as based on cultural and geographical growing and production techniques, explaining how processing methods produce dramatically different tea. She also suggests optimal methods for storing, brewing, and presenting the tea. "The Book of Green Tea" includes many beauty applications, cooking recipes, craft suggestions, and ideas for the home. A complete resource guide is also included.

This review is from: The Book of Green Tea (Paperback)
Amazon shows you the table of contents. From that table you can see the theme of the book. To add to this the back cover mentions: How to blend, brew, and appreciate more than 120 varieties of green tea. Up-to date information on the health benefits of drinking green tea. Recipes for cooking with green tea and making green tea body care products. Rich green tea history, poetry, lore, and tradition from around the world the book has pictures along with descriptions of green teas that look almost identical but are different. There are pictures of tea paraphernalia and locations of tea origins. You see tea bags tea glasses and even the chemical formula for tea. After you get past that there are many practical recipes involving green tea; any one of which makes is worth the price of the book.
