This is an enthralling translation of the well known story by the brothers Grimm. What refreshes this well repeated story and enlivens it are the beautiful and detailed illustrations, which captivated my 7 and 10 year old as well as myself. We spotted all sorts of interesting details hidden in the beautifully crafted pictures. As well as being an interesting read at home, it is also a valuable adddition to the range of resources used to teach aspects of the Literacy Strategy at Key Stage 2.
A must for the lover of good quality picture books.
