Product Description

Book Description

Spurs Odyssey is one of the longest-running and most popular
of independent Spurs web sites, maintained by 55-year old Paul Smith, who
started supporting his local football club during the time when they were
busy winning the 1960-61 Double.

Spurs Odyssey was established in the late
1990s, and carries Paul's exclusive match reports from first team, reserve
and youth matches.

Now, for the first time, Paul has decided to commit to
paper all 59 match reports of the roller-coaster season that was 2006-07.
It was a season that included three prolonged Cup runs in domestic and
European competition, and culminated in a second successive qualification
for the UEFA Cup through a fifth place finish.

Respected by fans around
the world, Paul is often told that reading his match reports is like
"being at the game". Paul's reports are factual, objective,
critical and sometimes humorous and emotional, conveying the true feeling
of an ordinary fan following his team up and down the country, and across
Europe.

From the Author

The book is divided into monthly segments. There is an
introduction and summary for each month, enabling the reader to keep tabs
on team performances and league position.

A table of the full season's
fixture list acts as the index to the book, which has 228 pages. There are
appendices of the Final Premiership table, and complete lists of players'
appearances and goal-scorers in all four competitions.

You will also find
exciting action shots of Aaron Lennon, that goal at Upton Park, and more
pictures of Robbie Keane and Berbatov inside the book.

Regular visitors
to Spurs Odyssey and new readers alike will surely find "Spurs Odyssey
2006-07 Season Review" a valuable resource for reference, and for
re-living the highs and lows of Spurs longest season for years!

4.0 out of 5 stars Spurs Odyssey - a fans view, 19 Aug 2007
By P. Viveash (Isleworth, TW7 4PA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is an excellent record of a season in which Spurs had three good cup runs and finished in fifth position in the premiership (equalling their position of the previous seson.

There is a well written report of each match played, with the teams, scorers, attendance and referee all shown. The two appendices show the final league table and details of each player's season (number of games played, goals scored and disciplinary record - a wealth of statistics for the anoraks amongst us.

Whilst the author is a Spurs fan, the reports are balanced and fair, and overall this book is a delight for those who, like me, follow Tottenham Hotspur

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Bleeding Tottenham!', 14 Aug 2007
By Mr. William L. Holmes - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
An excellent book recording the highs and lows for Spurs and their supporters throughout season 2006-07. The detailed match reports portray the emotions of all the fans, the excitement, the joy, the disappointment and the heartbreak - especially in the 'Bleeding Tottenham!' comment after the Carling Cup semi-final defeat. Every Spurs' fan can empathise precisely with the writer's thoughts and feelings.

The book is an excellent addition to any collection of books on Spurs and provides the reader with the records for every Spurs' game from last season.

This should become an annual production to record Spurs' season.

Paul Smith is a passionate Spurs fan, with a keen eye for detail and an easy writing style. His match previews, reports and background articles make compelling reading.

I thoroughly recommend this book, not just for Spurs fans, but for anyone passionate about The Beautiful Game.
