5.0 out of 5 stars Another 'everyone should have this' horse book, 3 Feb 2008
It's a bit pricy at £26.95 for such a small book, but really is worth every penny. Not only to show you how to optimise your precious land to get the most out of it for your horses' welfare, but because it gives a clearer insight into herds and bands and how horses behave amongst themselves too.

If you keep horses, barefoot or shod, read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, 26 Feb 2009
By Jan Wolfe (By Oban, Argyll United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For anyone with horses who are overweight, suffering with laminitis, cushings, insulin resistance, poor feet, and general malaise, or indeed any horse or pony, this book is definately worth a read. It makes so much sense, is easy to read, is enthusiastic, and so inspirational. It gave me a lightbulb moment. It is a bit brief for my liking, but the information is sound, and based on many years of experience as a farrier, and study of horses in the wild - and let's face it, horses really are not meant to live in square flat fields eating grass all day, or be living in the confines of a stable for long hours. Have a read and let your imagination run wild!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book, 9 Sep 2007
By Mrs. S. D. Bell (Uk) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is quite outstanding if you are wanting to know how to go about or improve keeping barefoot horses. It gives you practical advice as to how to keep horses turned out but without over grazing. It is based on his experience as a farrier who is now a barefoot trimmer.
