(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Sense and Sustainability (Paperback)
I just had to write a quick review of this book - following on from his previous book "Rethink" this takes ideas about education for sustainability much much further. This book highlights the fact that our current approaches to Education for Sustainable Development are leading us nowhere - and have no hope of ever working. And by working he means - creating a sustainable planet. Once this fact is established the books offers real hope and a way forward. If we can model our systems and ways of doing things on natures principles then we can achieve a low carbon and sustainable economy. We need to move from "me and consumerism" and "systems and community". Of course there are lots of things that have to be in place to allow a closed loop economy to work - but thinking differently is the starting point - and this book shows how it can work. I am going to try and get to one of this guys workshops as fast as possible. The ideas are wonderful. There's one at Dartington in October so see you there.
