Regine's story of being hidden during the second world war is sad. She is shipped time and time again from house to house from the day her father is forced to leave her at Madame Andre's nig country mansion. He promises to return but after a few visits, he never returns.
The saddest point, I found, was at the end when she discoved that all her family were most probably dead. A great insight into the life of a Jewish girl during the war.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving account of a Jewish girl in hiding in the war, 2 Feb 2000
By A Customer
This book set in Belgium, is about a Jewish girl called Regine Miller, sent into hiding by her father. Although this story is very sad, it really brings to life the emotions and feelings of Regine and the tragedies she faced. I can't praise the book enough, without telling you the whole story - READ IT FOR YOURSELF!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, 10 Dec 1999

This book was well written and was very enjoyable. It would appeal to 9+ and to those who, like me, are partial to a good war story now and again! By Brigette Manion
