I've never read such an excellent book on human genome, beautiful pictures explaining complicated theories in such simple words, absolutely no arcane language. You'll learn from the history of genetics, classicial Mendelian genetics to discovery of genes & double helix; you'll learn about the human genome project, its surprises & new insights to our understanding of life & genetics; you'll be told about "to clone or not to clone", "genetic counselling", "genetic discrimination" in the post-genomic era. Most importantly, you can learn all of these in one day & you can talk with people about genome in an expert-like manner. Of course, it's only a beginning if you wanna be a real expert.
