I was coming to this book from an Excel VBA background. The concept appears sensible. You follow along, building a personal organizer application. For the first few chapters, the book is promising, but from around Ch7 the code becomes more difficult, explanation is lacking, and things don't appear to work as they should. Maybe some steps are missing. I shall struggle on with it but it doesn't inspire confidence. Note also that the back cover states that this book is suitable for beginning/first-time programmers, but beware, I think such people could have a nightmare with this.
