3.0 out of 5 stars The book for new DNN users, 13 Nov 2005
By A Customer
I bought this book when it was published after having worked with DNN for more than 6 months.

I'm a senior programmer with some years of experience in the world of web applications.

If you have worked with DNN you will have suffered the lack of documentation so I was hoping that this book will explain me some of the "hidden secrets" for DNN. However, this wasn't the case.

The DNN team have seen a good chance to get some money just tidying up the documentation found in the product and releasing it as a book with a few adornments. I can't blame them, probably I'd have done the same, because the money they will earn with this will somehow pay them the time spent developing DNN.

To sum up:

If you're not a programmer and you only want to know how to use DNN just search for a tutorial out there. It will be cheaper and faster.

If you're a programmer with no experience in DNN this book may help you to start working with DNN sooner than looking through code and the included documentation.

If you're a programmer with some experience in DNN, buy this book only if you want to pay something back to the DNN team. If you want to understand better how to work with DNN get some traincert videos. A lot faster and no filler.
