With this teaching tool, you′ll learn how to use queries, views, and stored procedures to efficiently access and manipulate data from your applications. You′ll get a firm grasp on using ADO.NET as well as OleDb, SQL, and Oracle to access specific databases. Plus, hands–on examples and try–it–out exercises help you put your reading into practice so that with each chapter, you′ll gradually build the pieces of a single application.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin, 20 Dec 2006

If you've had any other Wrox "Beginning........" book you know exactly what you're getting.

Nice touches in this book are a real understanding that real people do want to use what they have and so it includes much on linking VB to all different kinds of databases.

This is not going to turn you into a VB-DB programmer, but it will give you a good grounding and some real understanding so you can make good choices about which book to buy next.
