3.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the cover!, 6 Feb 2009

It's not one of those zippy or jokey guides but it does what it promises if you're prepared to sit down and work through it. What else can you ask for?

I'm not sure how good it would be for complete novices to programming in general but coming at it with bits of various other programming languages I found it a good solid guide to AS2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best AS2 Book I Have Ever Read!!!, 25 Jan 2007
By Mr. G. J. Mooney (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A great book for the programmer looking to boost his AS skills. This book takes you from the ground up, teaching you about basic statements, time line control and movie clip creation using the drawing api.

Excellent coverage of the XML object and its methods for loading data into flash even how to pre-load it and catch errors. One downside is the lack of information on how to use the BitmapData class(very useful) but leaves you with enough to get up and running with it.

All in all a very good, thorough and enjoyable to work through. And a top tip get the SEPY actionscript editor as it makes it easier to code with more viewable code on screen(a great help). Just Google SEPY!!

Get it and don't miss out!!!
