5.0 out of 5 stars Clear and Concise Reading, 16 Dec 2003
I have the second edition of this superb book and have found it to be the best training book of it's type that I have come across. It's training methods are explained clearly and in a way that encourages you to push you and your dog to greater things.

The section detailing the role of the SAR dogs at the Twin Towers site in New York in the days after September 11th 2001 is quite heart wrenching and I challenge anyone not to be moved by it.

If you have a SAR dog, are considering training one or are just interested in the work of Search and Rescue teams then this book is a must.

2.0 out of 5 stars A general overview, 5 April 2009
By Tore Stirling Bade "Tore" (Spain) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book gives you a general overview on US centric search and Rescue dogs, but it is not really a book that lends itself to been a training manual. There are however some good tips, if you want to train your dog.
