4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book for an, 8 Aug 2003
By A Customer
This is not for a programming beginner, but if you already have some coding experience this a great book.
I have been coding with VB for 5 years, and I wanted a book that gave me a good start on object oriented concepts and C# without being light weight and wasting too much space on re-teaching the obvious, and this book does that. The book gives a really solid and detailed insite into OO concepts and how C# differs from VB, C++ and Java. The only downside is that the authors spend a little too much time showing off how well they know other languages which whilst impressive at first, gets annoying after a while.

To sum up if you're starting from scratch this is not the book for you, but if you have some coding experience, particularly with a none object oriented language then you will find this book great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply an inspiration, 17 Jan 2005
By A Customer
As I am a fussy person when it comes to investing time and money in the books that I read, I spent huge effort to find the right book that treats this subject in a way that you feel your learning curve is shaping up in a nice way. Professional C# had driven me on the right path for learning C# in a real professional way and also made me taste the beauty of the .NET framework. Very simple approach, combined with logical, suitable and organised presentation. Credit to the authors for treating every chapter and its aspects in a way that makes you want to know more. The core principles are presented in the beginning chapters, then slowly moving to more advanced features and aspects as you go along after having built a strong background. THIS BOOK IS SIMPLY AN INSPIRATION.
