"This is an excellent book: pragmatic, thorough, and full of good counsel. This book could help make your career - or save you from horrendous mistakes."

Rupert Baines, Vice President, picoChip

"Richard Jones has produced a clear, comprehensive and insightful guide to successful project management. This book should be of equal interest to those who have responsibility for significant projects and senior managers anxious to ensure the success of a major project."

Hans Kuropatwa, Former Vodafone CEO

"Full of techniques that can be applied straight away and memorable anecdotes to illustrate the key points, this is a very practical guide to successfully delivering projects in the real world."

Richard Wilson, Head of Optimise Products, Cable & Wireless

"What’s useful about this book is that it assumes that most projects have already gone wrong before they’re off the ground and that resources and times are not just limited, but inadequate – welcome to real world project management.”

CNBC European Business

“If you have been landed a tricky project, you may well want to consult ‘Project Management Survival’ to help you stay on top of things.”

Start Your Business

“Welcome to read-world project management. High readable and lacking in tedious jargon.”

CNBC European Business News

"Sets out a clear value system in a no-nonsense fashion. There’s no shortage of guides to surviving in the business jungle, but this one knows where the watering holes are."

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful, well-written and very relevant, 25 Dec 2007
Richard Jones does an outstanding job of not only bringing his sharp intellect to the fundamentals of project management but his years of experience shine through each chapter providing the reader with useful techniques on handling projects that need to get a grip.

This book should be used, at minimum, as a benchmark for project management in the real world, e.g. when the schedule is shot to hell, when other people's agendas take the project's focus off track and irritating peripherals which botch project delivery as opposed to how it was pitched to the client. If you've already handled projects-gone-wrong, Jones' book will show you the art of perspective and still teach you how to snatch project success from the gaping jaws of over-cost and over-schedule defeat.

Brilliant book written by a man who knows, thoroughly, what he's talking about.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last!, 9 Jan 2008

(REAL NAME)
Finally a book about the management of projects that recognises the realities of life - that real project success stems from the management of failures. If we can recognise the sources of those failures, if we can predict and contain them, then eventually we win.

Thank you, Mr. Jones, for a sorely-needed splash of practicality. Like many of us, you've been there and done that. But I think you've learned more and have passed on many valuable lessons.
