I really recommend this book to anyone who has even a passing interest in how a car works. I covers the basic principles right through to advanced mechanics. It is ideally suited to older cars (pre ECU) but the basic principles of how and why an engine works still apply.

I covers a wide varity of topics in great detail, including - eninges, gearboxes, steering, brakes and electrics. It has a very handy common fault topic section as well.

It would be very useful to anyone who is thinking about car repair or restoration.

You can also pick it up at a really low price via the used book sellers on amazon.
