I found this book was really struggling to follow the foundation stage curriculum at the expense of providing singable songs. I got the feeling that Ofsted inspectors might love it, but the children themselves would be a bit bored. It was nicely laid out, but I've found that I haven't used any of the songs (I teach pre-school age music classes). Might possibly be useful for pre-schools, but there are better books available.

Totally in contrast to the other reviewer, as a foundation stage teacher my class loved this. It was fantastic to link to all our topics and the songs provide brilliant assemblies. Get your school to buy it!!!!

I teach 4 and 5 year old children and have found that they really liked the songs. Some might be very simple, but suitable for EAL children. Others are nice and repetitive so help build up a good bank of songs. They are all very catchy. The video clips are very useful for seeing how others teach the songs.
