If you ever needed inspiration to start your Christmas baking, this is a great book to use. The photos are just gorgeous, and there are recipes for all skill levels. For the truly ambitious, the gingerbread cathedral is a massive holiday project. (I've never quite gotten that ambitious.)

Every recipe I've tried was wonderful, but often I simply thumb through the pages, looking for ideas and daydreaming about the next holiday baking binge.

Here's hoping that Wm. Morrow puts this one out again very soon.

My husband and I make neary 1,500 cookies from this book each Christmas: To give as GIFTS!. We make about 12 dozen cookies of 12 to 13 varieties, then pack tins with one cookies at a time, from each variety, unitl the tins are full. Everyone always returns the tins when they are empty, so that we'll remember them next year! However, the publisher ought to be SHOT. We thought our copy was falling apart due to over use, but I can see from this page, that everyone else has the same problem!

I have tried at least 8 of the recipes in this book and they all tasted great. I give them as presents, and people always ask for them again. But I get annoyed each time I pick up the book because of its shoddy construction. I treat all books carefully. However, within less than 1 year of purchase, whole chunks of pages were falling out of this book. The book is in about 10 pieces - delicious cookies, but I wouldn't spend money on the book again.
