Product Description

Product Description

"What does he mean? What's going on? Are you two thinking of putting Granny into a Home?" "Thinking is finished,' Natasha told him. 'It is decided." The four children, Ivan, Sophie, Tanya and Nicholas, can't believe it. Their parents are planning to put their grandmother into a Home. She's a bit of a dotty old lady - sometimes demanding, often annoying - but as much a part of their lives as their shambly house or the whirring of the washing machine. So they decide to take action. They begin 'The Granny Project', with immediate and sensational results...

From the Back Cover

Blackmail – or negotiation?

Mum and Dad reckon things would be better if Granny were in a Home.
The kids all want her to stay.
Ivan’s Granny Project should make his parents think again.
But there’s more than one way of doing a project – and blackmail can work two ways…

A savagely funny tale from multi-award-winning author ANNE FINE.

4.0 out of 5 stars > boring & interesting, 6 Nov 2005
This review is from: The Granny Project (Paperback)
This book is about a family that need to take care of their granny so they loose all of their holidays. Henry, the children's dad and Natasha, the mother, wants to send her to a Home but the children (Sophie, Ivan, Nicholas & Tanya) don't want. Granny ends up staying and not going to the Home but the children's parent said that they would need to take care of granny while they go out dancing and doing fun stuff. When almost everything is in the place again Granny dies.

I read this book at my English lessons and i am going to have a test on it. At the beggining of the book i thought it was a really boring book but when it was in the middle i thought it was more interesting.
i thought the coolest part was when the children needed to do everything for Granny.

In conclusion this is a good book !!

3.0 out of 5 stars The Granny Project, 14 Feb 2003
This review is from: The Granny Project (Paperback)
This book the 'Granny Project' is about an old women, which lives with her son & family, but the parents (Henry & Natasha) want her to go into a home but the children (Ivan, Sophie, Nicholas & Tanya)want her to stay. She causes a problem in the house so Ivan (the eldest son does a granny project for school. The final suggestion is that the children have to look after her.

The main charcters in the story are:
Granny-who is the problems in the house.
Henry-who is the Farther of the house (grannys son).
Natasha-Henrys wife,the mother (Polish).
Sophie-the eldest child.
Ivan-the one who has to do the most of the work to look after granny.
Nicholas & Tanya-(youngest children).

I thought that the best part of the book was when the children had to do all the work if Granny wa going to stay.
Also i thought it was good when Natasha was making comments like'You can't make omlents without breaking eggs'.

I think that people will like this book because when Natasha makes the little comments, & the children care about their granny. Some people may not enjoy it because they find it boring.v cThe words that i would use to describe this book are :Boring ,(some bits good), Intresting, caring sad.
