2.0 out of 5 stars Frustratingly disappointing purchase, 16 May 2008
By Mr. Clive Miller - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Browsing the book, I thought it was just what I needed as a fairly brief but comprehensive guide to C#. What I found was a book which doesn't really know who its audience is. In the first few chapters, the reader is baffled by unnecessaily complex syntax tables that would usually be relegated to an Appendix. Mixed in with this are pointlessly simple statements that really tell you nothing. New terms are unexpectedly thrown at you without first being introduced. What example code there is contains errors, so it clearly has not been tried and tested. This does not aid comprehension.

If you want a beginner's guide to C#, try another book which will be easier to understand. If you want a technical reference guide, try another book which is more concise and actually tells you what you want to know.
