About the Author

Ann Montague-Smith was the series consultant for '100 Maths Lessons' and '100 Maths Homework Activities'. She has also contributed to the 'Learning in the Early Years' series. She is a former Principal Lecturer in Primary Education and leader of a primary maths team and is now a well-established educational author. Ann Morgan is a freelance maths advisor. She was previously a Numeracy Consultant for Essex LEA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maths made easy - a minor miracle!, 4 April 2006
As all teachers will know, getting the whole class to take an interest in mathematics is no easy task. I had heard on the grapevine that this book was selling like hotcakes and now I can see for myself exactly why. The lesson plans are well written, by someone who obviously has hands-on experience in the classroom. The author uses a jolly tone and lightness of touch throughout the book that is guaranteed to enthuse your little cherubs, and get them to sit up, take notice and engage!

This book stands out like a beacon in a sea of lacklustre offerings for this subject. It is a real gem, and for those who enjoy using modern technology in the classroom, it comes with a handy interactive cd. My copy is looking a little dog-eared already, but there's plenty of life in it yet. I heartily recommend it!
