2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, wait for the film..., 28 Jan 2001
By the_cheesemaker (Nottingham, UK) - See all my reviews
An intensely mediocre book that would probably make a pretty good film? Sounds ridiculous doesn't it. The point is though, that if Radio Four decided to make it "book of the week" the abridged version would be two chapters, the first and last. What happens in between is complete guff; an exercise in padding out. The end twists are suprising and you get the feeling the author was reading over the previous two or three paragraphs, deciding there wasn't enough umph and adding a little more.
