5.0 out of 5 stars A really lovingly written, touching view of women, 28 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Worth (Hardcover)
Reading this book I felt proud to be a woman!

I don't have children but, after reading this book, felt restored in my outlook of motherhood being a very valuable contribution to society and families. I have always achieved recognition and acknowledgement through my career and relationships, however, I now look forward to motherhood - a new plan for me!

It is a great confidence and self-esteem builder.

I would recommend this book as touching reading to anyone. Very empowering reading! I wish anyone entering a relationship with a woman would read this to realise the fantastically empathic skills women have to offer a relationship and family! My soul is restored!

5.0 out of 5 stars Women's self-esteem through the eyes of an open-hearted beholder, 21 Jan 2008
By Brian Griffith (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
Williamson goes far deeper and wider than psychological self help normally can. In dealing with our self-image problems, she walks through mental walls between personal, social, spiritual and worldly concerns. She shows how the big picture of our significance looks from her open-hearted view. For Williamson, love and marriage are not just necessary "conventions of the world"; they are schools of the soul: "... that is why we learn to love: to care so completely for one other person that our hearts break open wide and we learn to love them all". (p. 99)

The expansion of context brings a flood of light, more uplifting than any exhortation to positive thinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars heart-warming, powerful and thought provoking, 11 Dec 2009

I feel uplifted and inspired by Marianne Williamson's writing. Her book, Return to Love too. It is enabling me to feel a powerful connection with others and especially with other women. If only womankind could shed her all to prevalent fears and insecurities and see her wonderous strength and beauty. I would recommend it to anyone - in fact I would like to urge everyone to read it - guys too - because we need to listen - in these times of indivduality, destruction, mindlessness and aggression - to the need for community, truth and togetherness as human beings. Read it.
