Product Description

Product Description

Having just been fired, Francesca has three immediate requirements: a coffee, an extremely calorific pastry and a new job. Stopping off at her favourite cafe, Giovanni's, she manages to pick up all three!Fran's new job working for darkly handsome Giovanni Mazetti is fantastic - except she soon discovers it comes with a tantalising caveat: pretending to be his adoring girlfriend! It's all to get Gio's interfering grandmother off his back, not to mention his parents, sisters, aunts...It's a tough life, but someone's got to kiss the oh-so-sexy Gio, and it might as well be her...if only it could be for real! But when the kisses start happening in private, Fran discovers that breakfast at Giovanni's has a whole new meaning...

4.0 out of 5 stars Romance at Giovanni's, 18 Jul 2007

What is it they say; `when one door closes another one opens'. When Francesca Marsden lost her job she thought her world had ended, she was the only non-academic in her family and her job as an office manager in a voiceover studio was her one great achievement. Brooding over her coffee cup at her favourite café -Giovanni, she was surprised when the handsome Italian Gio closed the café just to hear her story and there and then he offered her a job as his office manager.
Gio Mazetti, the handsome proprietor of Giovanni, had noticed Fran weeks ago, and had been trying to work up the courage to ask her out on a date, but having offered her a job ,he felt that any chance of their getting involved romantically was ruled out as he did not want to jeopardise their working relationship. However to appease his ` Nonna' (grandmother) who was visiting from Italy and his large family who were constantly pressuring him to settle down, Gio asked Fran to be his pretend girlfriend and from there their romance began to blossom but not without some hiccups.

This a very sweet medium paced romantic tale of two people who felt a strong attraction and love for each other but were trying very hard to keep their distance to maintain a good working relationship until events forced them to explore their feelings for each other. Aside from the sweet romantic tale, I also liked the fact that the book was set in London and the Hero was a classical guitarist and being a Londoner and a classical music lover I thoroughly enjoyed the author's exploration of those. An Interesting read, I recommend.

This is a gorgeous story by the prolific Kate Hardy. One not to be missed - particularly as it's the author's 25th title for Mills & Boon.
