The 19th episode of the classic sci-fi saga, 11 Oct 2001

The Quillian Sector is about halfway through the classic "Dumarest Saga" and continues Earl Dumarest's search for clues to find the planet of his birth, the long forgotten (and some say fable) world Earth.As ever, Dumarest also has to avoid capture by the emotionless Cyclan, whilst battling a number of creatures, take part in gladiatorial contests and generally undergo a series of death-defying challenges. The Dumarest Saga consists of 31 books and is possibly the greatest achivement of E.C. Tubb, who also wrote "Space 1999" books and a wealth of other titles. In many ways, Dumarest is the ultimate "formulaic" series - you KNOW that someone will say "Fast, I've never seen anyone move so fast", the main female character will fall in love with him, leading her to breathlessly utter "Oh, Earl" and the Cyber will, after communicating mentally with his home world be subject to an experience which is "sheer intoxication"! But it doesn't matter - these books are fast paced, thrilling and fun.
